The reconstruction of greens, tees or bunkers can be a daunting prospect as it typically involves disruption to the golf course which can also have an impact on revenue. As golf course consultants we have the experience to help clubs avoid the pitfalls and potential problems associated with this type of venture, be it one or two greens, or all 18 greens.
In the case of Buckingham Golf Club, we were asked to redesign all 18 green complexes (& putting green) to modern USGA standards whilst maintaining the character of the course. The greens reconstruction project was completed in 2004 to the designs of PJA, and we assisted the Club in the decision making process by presenting to 400 members who attended a presentation before the project was voted through.
The green reconstruction process was supervised by Peter Jones as designer, and constructed by J&E Ely. Project management and agronomy services for the job was carried out by PSD Agronomy.
