Following the success of Phase 1 of the bunker improvement programme which commenced in August, it has been agreed that Phase 2 will go ahead in August 2014.
PJA was employed as to project manage Phase 1 and took advantage of the dry, firm summer ground conditions and long day-light hours to ensure minimal damage to the course and maximum productivity. Phase 1 saw the renovation of 18 bunkers, plus four new fairway bunkers, and the removal of four unwanted bunkers.
As an integral part of the project, the bunker sand is being changed to Buckbricks sand.
PJA is the retained Course Consultant, also responsible for the course agronomy. As the course continues to improve and attract new members, it was good to hear recently that the Club is now back to having a waiting list to join.
